Apple let's a little hate slip through

AppleApple got itself a major online beat-down this week when a new app, called the 'Manhattan Declaration,' made its way into the Apple store catalogue.

The app in questions is a "call of Christian conscience" and was created to get people to sign a 'declaration' against gay marriage. The app "issues a clarion call to Christians to adhere firmly to their convictions," and allows users to add their signatures to the declaration.

Included with the app is a 4-question survey that asks "Do you support same sex relationships?" or "Do you support the right of choice regarding abortion?" Answer "yes" and you're told you replied incorrectly.

The app was given a rating of "4+," which means the App Store found "no objectionable material."

When the various gay blogs took issue with the app, its creators shot back with the cliched attack on "liberals," saying, "These radicals often pollute the debate with ranting. They rant about 'equal rights,' without explaining how homosexuality deserves it, 'women's rights,' without explaining how women have a right to kill their child, and even 'hateful Christians,' without showing instances where we hate."

The app has since been removed, although Apple is remaining mum on the issue.
