'Unzipped' unplugged

Unzipped magazineThe last gay porn magazine published in the U.S. has bitten the dust. Here/Regent Media, responsible for 'Out' and 'The Advocate,' informed staff that it was shutting down 'Unzipped' last Friday. The entire staff of the magazine was let go.

This puts 'Unzipped' in good company. Last year Mavety Media Group shut down operations on 'Mandate,' 'Torso'  and 'Playguy,'  while on the non-adult side Window Media ceased publication of a slew of papers including Atlanta’s 'Southern Voice,' and the ''Washington Blade.'

'Unzipped' blogger Zach Sire admitted that the news came as a shock and isn't quite sure how and if it will affect the online property. The company has yet to release an official statement.

The good ol' days of hiding porn under the mattress are truly finished ... done ... kapput.
