Corbin Fisher slays eBay pirate in court

Corbin Fisher wins suit against video pirateCorbin Fisher has won a major victory in its fight against the illegal use of its videos. A.D. Trice, a Texas entrepreneur, was fined $990,000 by a federal court for making copies of CF content and selling it to others over eBay.

It could have been worse. Corbin Fisher was initially seeking $9.9 million in damages. They agreed to a lesser amount “due to [Trice's] cooperation and contrition in the case.”

"The court recognized our right to protect the material we produce, and this judgment reflects that," CF lawyer Marc Randazza said.

The case will now focus more heavily on co-defendant Eric Brown. He allegedly ran his own counterfeit DVD scheme.

Consider this a tax on stupidity, fellas!
