Adam Lambert had to expect some controversy from his sexually explicit performance during this weekend's 'American Music Awards.' But the fall-out may be a little more than anyone expected.
ABC's 'Good Morning America' canceled Lambert's scheduled performance on Wednesday's show.
"Given his controversial 'American Music Awards' performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning," ABC News said in a statement.
"Obviously, I respect their decision — they gotta do what they gotta do," Lambert said Tuesday. "It's too bad, I think there were a lot of fans who were excited to come see me. They probably had a lot of pressure coming at them from certain people who weren't happy about it."
The Awards show received over 1,500 complaints about Lambert's performance. For comparison, Janet Jackson's exposed boob during the Super Bowl half-time show resulted in 500,000 complaints.
CBS announced that Lambert will appear on "The Early Show" this Wednesday, performing and talking about the drama.
Seems the folks at CBS understand the idea of news and ratings a little better than their counterparts at ABC.
