Johan Urb is one very sexy guy. Originally from Estonia, he moved to New York when he was 17 to start a career in modelling. It wasn't long before he was offered some acting roles. Now you can see Johann every Wednesday on ABC's new series "Eastwick," based on the 1987 movie (yes, 1987!) He plays Will, a photographer at the Eastwick Gazette, as well as a volunteer fireman [insert hose reference here]. Johann will also be on the big screen come November, in Roland Emmerich's new apocalypse film "2012."
Urby (his friends must call him that) has done a number of small films, too, including 2008's "Pornstar," in which he has a minor role as Cannon Balls, a gay-for-pay porn actor. He says the film was a growing experience:
"For me, acting is a spiritual journey. It truly is a way to explore humanity and to understand and have compassion for people. Recently, I was in an independent movie called Porn Star. I played a gay porn star, who's straight. I was watching these documentaries on these guys who are doing gay porn, and they've got girlfriends. I really didn't understand it initially. Putting yourself in that position without judgment and allowing yourself to feel those feelings, suddenly, it all makes sense. It's all how we justify what we do. Everyone filters how they view the world and interpret the world. Neuro Linguistic Programming has a saying, "The map is not the territory. The menu isn't the meal." We all map the same territory differently depending on where we're looking at it. It's really cool that my job is to essentially map the same territory completely differently each time. It's fun."
We're going to interpet that as saying he'd be up for a little man-on-man himself, if the circumstances were right. Well, that's how we're mapping it, anyway...
