Perez Hilton gets punched after calling star 'faggot'

Perez Hilton - yeah, you know the one - was punched in the face following a heated argument with Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am.

It all started during an after-party, following the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto. Fergie, the female vocals for the group, asked Perez to stop disrespecting her on his site. When he refused, Will.i.am took up her cause and he and Perez started to exchange words.

Perez, going for the jugular, called Will.i.am a 'faggot.' The groups tour manager then punched Perez in the head.

Really, Perez? Faggot?

Although the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) could not condone the violent outburst, they are concerned that Perez also should not have used the word 'faggot.' They have asked him to apologize.

Perez later vlogged: “I made the split-second decision, that I was gonna say what I thought was the worst possible thing that thug [Will.i.am] would ever want to hear, which was a handful of assorted F-bombs.”

Rashad Robinson, of GLADD, stated: "These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous.

"It legitimises use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanise people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.”

Although some of you may disagree, Perez does not deserve to be hit. He should, however, refrain from using such an ugly word.
