"8 1/2" video loses GayVN nomination

A day ago, Matthias Von Fistenberg's adult video "8 1/2" had three nominations for a GayVN award, including Best All-Sex Video, Best Music and Best Oral Scene. Today, these same nominations have been rescinded.

Any video that contains bareback sex is ineligible for an award. This disqualifies "8 1/2"  because there are a few minutes of unsafe sex in the video.

The people at Fleshbot think barebacking will eventually be welcome at the GayVN Awards. "Some (in the industry) are speculating that GAYVN will have no choice but to accommodate their bareback advertisers and will allow them be included in next year's show," they say, "though after all the anti-bareback campaigning that's gone on over the years, it's unlikely that major studios like Titan and Channel 1 will be willing to share the stage with them. If any single factor threatens to cause a split big enough to end the GAYVN Awards in their current incarnation, it's this one."
