Industry mourns loss of Matt Sterling, Andy Dill

Andy DillThe gay adult world has lost two of its own in a single day. Pioneer gay porn director Matt Sterling died yesterday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, after a years-long battle with a motor neuron disease. On the same day, porn star and adult entepreneur Andy Dill (pictured) passed away suddenly in San Francisco of meningitis.

Matt Sterling was one of the great founding directors of contemporary gay adult film. His first gay line was the legendary Brentwood Studios. But his best known work was for Huge Video, which produced such classics as "A Matter of Size" (1983) and "Stryker Force" (1987). He also directed the iconic "Huge 1" (1983), "Huge 2" (1984) and  "The Bigger, the Better" (1984) for Falcon Studios. Sterling showcased many of the greatest porn actors of the day, including Jeff Stryker, Ryan Idol, Rick Donovan and Matt Ramsey.

Andy Dill appeared in over twenty titles from Raging Stallion, Titan and MSR between 2003 and 2005 and worked with directors Joe Gage, Paul Barresi and Chris Ward. Before starting his porn career Andy worked in public relations and journalism. He founded his own studio, Dill Media, in 2003 which released "Bedrock" in late 2004. Recently Andy was named Vice-President of Bear Films. He also had a love of red heads and operated RedHeadGuys.com. He was 38 years old at the time of his death.
