Sam Smith is back with another hit on their hands.
Smith teamed up with German pop star Kim Petras to release the single “Unholy.” The catchy song landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart with over 76.7 million streams and 20,000 downloads sold worldwide during the September 23-29 tracking week.
The star came out as genderqueer in 2017, explaining: "I feel just as much a woman as I am a man" and opting for they/them pronouns.
Smith, who turned 30 this year, became an international sensation thanks to their moody debut album In the Lonely Hour back in 2014. It reached number one in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden and the United Kingdom. And though it missed out on the top spot in the US, it was the third best-selling of the year.
