Gay porn fans already know the name DeAngelo Jackson. The handsome stud has been in the biz for fifteen years, proving time and again he's a pro at fucking on camera.

His first time on camera was also his first time.

“I was in Orlando, this hotel room. It was for Flavaworks,” he revealed to Kito Diaries. “And the reason why I remember so vividly is because that was the first time I had ever had anything… I lost my virginity on camera. I didn’t know what a top, bottom, versatile (was). I didn’t know any of that stuff."

He added: “Leading up to that, I’d always been so open with my body, and just very comfortable and confident, and I thought to myself, ‘Oh this will be easy.’ You know, I didn’t really comprehend as far as… I knew there was going to be sex involved. But I didn’t really understand top, bottom – you know, oral, eating ass, none of that. I mean, I had seen it, but, in my mind, I don’t know, it was easy, quick money.”

DeAngelo had a slightly different career in mind. He wanted to become a cop.

“Porn put the brakes on that,” he said during an interview with Dining with Strangers. “And also seeing what my brother was going through, it’s a thankless job, they don’t get paid enough for what they go through. I can’t see myself being on the beat. Nice as I am, I’d end up getting shot because I’d give people the benefit of the doubt.”

He took a break from the biz in 2013, taking four years to recharge and refocus. He made sure, though, to stay connected with fans.

“I had my break, I re-charged,” he told AVN. “I always wanted to broaden my fan base. I don’t want to say I felt trapped or stuck, but I kind of did. I needed a break from it, and just listening to my fans and my followers, building up my fan base and looking at the demand for it, I said I would love to come back versatile.”

Before the break, he never bottomed on camera.

“In my personal life I am versatile, but I’ve never been a versatile top on film, and I think that would be extremely hot. I’m excited for it, I’m ready for it, and when it is released it’s gonna open up another door. I am nervous, because it’s been such a buildup and a lot of my fans have been wanting to see that for a while now, so I just want for it to be hot.”

Two years ago, he was the first Black man to win for Best Actor.

"I’m still a little in shock that it did happen, and I didn’t have anything planned as far as what I wanted to say," he told BoyCulture at the time. "It’s very, very humbling because it’s absolutely bigger than me. Just to be recognized that way as a black man, it’s phenomenal -- it’s history-making."

He went on to explain how he deals with the bigotry that is still a part of the gay porn business.

"You know, I’ve made it a point in my career to never fall into that trap of being fetishized. That is my way of slowly trying to change the perception of black men in porn. I’m not a thug, I’m not this roughneck. For me, I think that hopefully this is a change. There’s more to men of color in general, whether it be Black men, Asians or Latinos."

It is why he agreed to appear in, and narrate, the award-winning documentary Being Black In Porn.

“I had to do this for my fellow brothers and sisters in the entire adult industry. I learned early on that if we don’t stand for something, we will fall for anything,” DeAngelo said in a press statement.

Anoither issue DeAngelo has been open about is the struggle to make money in the industry.

“It started to go down right around 2007, 2008, when DVDs fizzled out and you had the tube sites with porn for free. Who’s going to pay for porn?” he explained to Dining with Strangers. “You have to do extreme due diligence” is the answer. “I’m on these tube sites sending out requests to have videos taken down, you have to do that, you have to take it back and own it or you’re losing money.”
