Dallas Steele is an imposing figure. He's 6’3″ and close to 220lbs of pure muscle, with a 9-inch dong swinging between his legs. And being fully versatile, he was definitely made for porn. He is, however, a bit of a late bloomer.

"When I first decided to go into porn, I agonized over what stage name to use," he told Titan. "After talking with a small group of close friends, I came up with five possibilities - all of them amalgamations of cities, big and small, in Texas. I had a contest on Facebook where more than 2000 friends and followers voted. 'Dallas Steele' was by far the top vote getter. The conclusion was that it combined my home of almost 20 years with strength of the word 'steel.' To me, porn names are supposed to be a bit cliche and funny, so combining my city 'Dallas' and the suggestion of a solid erection 'Steele,' is all in good fun."

His former colleagues weren't as excited about the new career path as he was.

“They generally don’t speak to me because they’re worried even the perception of being associated with me is going to do them harm,” he revealed to HuffPost.

He didn't always feel so comfortable in front of the camera. He explained to Titan that he once struggled with his weight and self-esteem.

"I was fat as a teenager. At 15, I was 5’10, weighed 240lbs and had a 40 inch waist. In junior high and high school, I got teased so severely about my weight, I started cutting classes and was eventually kicked out of school. I tried to kill myself but failed, eventually being returned to a continuing high school for misfits of the world. Paired with the drug abusing teens and pregnant girls, I did quite well because we all knew we didn’t fit in.

"[...] I started walking 30 minutes per day, 3 times per week, then running, then I started changing my diet. Within one year, I had lost 60lbs! It would be another three years before I discovered lifting, but once I picked-up the weight and saw what it could do for me, I was hooked. I’ve now been working out every single day, including holidays and weekends, for 23 years. I’ve missed a total of 42 days of illness and injury."

Favourite partners?

He told HotMovies: "That's a tough question because it involves so many qualifiers. There is physical, emotional, mental, personality, etc. From a purely physical standpoint, I really enjoyed being with Bruce Beckham as well as Dirk Caber. My friendship with Dirk, however, has really blossomed into feeling like he's a brother. I ask him for advice all the time and we're very close.

"In the future, I'd like to work Tex Davidson, as well as Bennett Anthony, both of which have shot with Titan before, we just haven't worked together yet. Outside of Titan, there are many men I find hot -- especially Latino and Black. I think men of different races are very hot."

Misconceptions about the kind of men who do porn?

"Wow, so many to choose from!" He said during an interview with Instinct. "I think the biggest misconception is that we’re all stupid. When I was working for Titan, it was not uncommon for me to be the only actor on set without a master’s degree, or even Ph.D. Many of the men I’ve shot with are brilliant in their respective fields.

"Some of the younger actors I’ve shot with, not so much, but certainly not all of them. Men over 30 in porn are generally easier to work with. They come in prepared, they have the clothing the director requested, they have whatever special lube they want, they demonstrate a positive attitude, they’re not constantly on their phones, and most of all, they’re not massively F’ed up on anything."

During his interview with Instinct, he explained his decision to focus more heavily on releasing content on sites like OnlyFans.

"What I find sickening is that a couple big name studios and their big-name directors’ control most of the business. They decide who works. They decide what gets promoted. They decide who wins awards. It’s done through spending big advertising dollars, by paying people to say things, by controlling the websites that sell and stream our movies, and by locking men into exclusive contracts for next to nothing.

'Thankfully, with the advent of 'Just for Fans,' and 'Only Fans,' porn stars are taking control of the business. We are deciding who we want to be paired with, what we want to do, and how it’s going to look. Add to that, we’re now keeping 75% of the income (forever) instead of supporting studios that pay us once for the movie."
