On Monday, Fredrik Eklund announced that he was ready to leave popular reality TV franchise Million Dollar Listing - New York. He was one of the original real estate agents on the series, which started in 2012. He recently moved to sister show Million Dollar Listing - Los Angeles for its Season 12 and 13.
“After an amazing 11 years, I’ve decided it’s time for the next chapter in my life, and to leave Million Dollar Listing, It’s an end of an era and a new start for me," he posted on Instagram. “I mean what an incredible run we had together. All of my memorable milestones from the last decade I shared with all of you: meeting [my husband] Derek [Kaplan], our wedding, the miscarriages, the birth of our twins [Freddy and Milla], and all the beautiful properties. I will always cherish that shared experience.”
Eklund is a natural on camera, with his over-the-top personality and endless self-confidence. Much of that he learned while working as a gay porn model; in those days he went by the stage name Tag Eriksson, appearing in six adult films.
He wrote an autobiographical novel about his adult film career called Bananflugornas Herre (aka Lord of the Fruit Flies).
"It started as a diary,” he shared in 2010. “It was never about the movies themselves, it was about the journey a young Swedish man goes through.”
"The newspaper [in Sweden followed] his every move, so he’s very well known,” his brother, Sigge, said at the time. “The things I hear Swedes admire most about him are his optimism and self-confidence. He’s the anti-Bergman - Bergman was a very dark and angst-ridden man, whereas Fredrik is social and cheery - and that sells well in today’s Sweden.”
Evidence that you don't have to hide from your past in porn to have a super successful future.
