Before you get too excited, Tom Daley has not started posting on Rentmen. No, the gold medal winning diver has found a way to turn his new hobby as a knitter and crocheter -- known collectively within crafting circles as "happy hookers" -- into his latest professional venture.
His obsession with knitting came to light during the 2020 Olympics; he was often pictured in the stands with his knitting needles. And this past weekend, Daley announced the launch of Made With Love By Tom Daley.
"It’s been a journey for me that started when I first picked up my knitting needles in March 2020," Daley shared. "Fast forward 18 months and I’m so proud to introduce these kits to you all so that you can experience the joy I found learning to knit.
"I designed these knit kits to help encourage you to pick up those needles, learn the basics, and fall in love with knitting at the same time -- all whilst creating something to show off or pass on."
If you or someone you love wants to start your own journey as a happy hooker, the company sells knit and crochet kits for all levels. Currently, you can choose from scarves, cardigans, jumpers, stockings, a vest and a blanket. (The winter warmer hat has sold out.)
You can follow Daly and his knit work on Instagram, which already has over a million followers.
Of course, most of you would rather see images like this ...
