Ex-gay former porn star fails as a politician

Former porn star Logan McCree, whose real name is Philipp Tanzer, is learning that his new persona as an ex-gay, anti-porn, far-right “men’s rights activist” isn't going to fly in Scotland.

The 43-year-old left porn almost 15 years ago. He moved to Durness in the UK, and decided he would focus on finding a woman to settle down with.

"I can only imagine [being] in a relationship with a woman," he said at the time. "I think you only feel at home in a place when you have family and I’m still working on that bit. It’s difficult to find a woman up here.”

In time, he has grown increasingly convservative in his views. He found a home in the right-wing, anti-gay Scottish Family Party. He said he supported the party’s position on “removing gay and trans-affirming indoctrination from school” and claimed the UK’s education system is “forcing LGBT+ lifestyles and pornography on children."

"I think I am an unusual candidate for most people for a socially conservative party because I identified as gay until I was 32 and I was actually in the adult entertainment industry. [...] I would say I'm more and more moving in a socially conservative direction. [...] We oppose sex education that focuses too much on pornography and certain sexualities," he explained. "We are currently in Scotland the only party that is pro-life."

In this week's elections in Scotland, he ran for the party and lost. As a "list candidate", he would only be seated if his party won a certain percentage of the vote, as a form of representational government. His party secured only 1,976 in total, not enough for a single seat; the winning Scottish National Party, in comparison, racked up 96,433.

Maybe Tanzer should dust off the ol' bum cheeks and get back to what he does best ...
