Bonds got his start in porn back in 2011.

“I think everybody at one point in his or her life has wanted to do porn,” he said at the time.

But he already had a pretty good idea of what it took to be successful.

“When getting ready for a porn shoot, just remember to have fun and look sexy for the camera,” Bonds said. “Everything should come naturally. I mean, it is just sex.”

He was once part of a power porn couple with Mason Lear. The two became fodder for gossip sites when Bonds proposed to Lear following a gangbang scene they filmed together.

He told James Besanvalle: "It was mostly surprising to me that news like this caught this much attention on the internet. I mean, friends — gay AND straight — that didn’t even know I did porn, as well as strangers, were showing me social media posts and news sites covering the proposal in countless foreign languages even."

Last year, he opened up about testing positive for HIV.

"When that hit, I kind went numb. Worried about work. I was afraid to tell my agent. I was afraid that I'd gotten [my ex] positive."

We caught up with him this week, and he was kind enough to answer a few questions for us.

Best and worst thing about being a porn star?

Best thing about being well known in porn, I don’t really say star as much anymore, is that every now and then I get a message saying that my porn had taught them things about their own sexuality. It was great knowing my work had some sort of an impact on people. The worst thing about it is keeping up with social media. After 10 years, it gets a bit tiring.

Secret to his longevity?

My secret is called the “slingshot affect”. Every once in a while I pull back from being on camera for a bit to let the new batch of cookies (new models) show us their flavor. Then when it’s time, I bust back in full swing. Also being behind camera is another way to help keep in the business. Oh yes! There’s also evolving on camera. People saw me as a baby gay in 2011. Now I’m all grown up in 2021.

And any message for fans?

My message to fans in 2021 has gotta be this, we spend too much time wishing for something to happen. Stop wishing and just go for your goals. When time passes and you’re older, you don’t want to be left wondering 'what if I had done...'"
