Netflix' popular series Grace and Frankie is ending after its seventh season.
"You have laughed with us, cried with us and grew old with us. Today we announce Grace & Frankie has been renewed for what will be our seventh and final season," the stars of
Grace and Frankie, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, shared through the show's
Twitter account.
"We're so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! ... We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around."
The series follows two older women who come together when their husbands, played by Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen, come out as gay and reveal they love each other.
"It's thrilling and somehow fitting, that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix," producers Marta Kauffman and Howard Morris said in a statement.
The good news, though, is that fans still have two new seasons to look forward to; season six won't premiere until January 2020, with the final season likely to come out a year later.
Well, at least those two young up-and-comers had a good run!
