Here's the first full trailer for Netflix' "Tales of the City"

Tales of the City is back.

Inspired by the books of Armistead Maupin, the Netflix series offers a new chapter in the beloved story. Mary Ann (Laura Linney) is back, returning to San Francisco twenty years after leaving the city to pursue her career. She will reconnect with her ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross) and daughter Shawna (Ellen Page).

Anna Madrigal (Olympia Dukakis) is also back, introducing fans to a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.

Maupin started the nine novel series back in 1978, and the final book was released in 2014. The first three books became the basis for a mini-series on PBS in 1993, and two TV sequels followed in 1998 and 2001.

The series hits Netflix on June 7, 2019.
