Jonathan Van Ness is only 31 years old but he's already releasing his memoir.
The hairstylist will release Over the Top this fall. It will explore his early life “in a small Midwestern town that didn’t understand why he was so… over the top.”
“Jonathan was an easy target and endured years of judgement, ridicule and trauma -- yet none of it crushed his uniquely effervescent spirit," explained publisher HarperOne. "Jonathan shares never-before-told secrets and reveals sides of himself that the public has never seen. JVN fans may think they know the man behind the stiletto heels, the crop tops, and the iconic sayings, but there’s much more to him than meets the Queer Eye.”
“HarperOne seeks to publish authors whose lives inspire and Jonathan Van Ness embodies that mission,” added HarperOne president Judith Curr. “His memoir will move readers and offer a unique and much-needed testament to the power of staying true to yourself.”
Aside from his work on Queer Eye, he stars in the Emmy-nominated online series Gay of Thrones, and he hosts the podcast, Getting Curious.
He'll be back on Netflix on March 15 for season three of Queer Eye.
