Kevin Hart may have finally really apologized for anti-gay past

Kevin HartKevin Hart is a very slow learner.

By now, most people have heard about the comedian's most recent controversy. In brief, his old tweets from 2009 and 2011 were brought up shortly after it was announced that he would be hosting the 2019 Oscars.

"Yo if my son comes home & try's 2 play with my daughters doll house I'm going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice 'stop that's gay," was one.

In another tweet, Hart described a photo of actor Damien Dante Wayans as looking “like a gay billboard for AIDS.”

Even in his stand-up routine, Hart did not shy away from anti-gay jokes. In Seriously Funny, he said, “As a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.”

Through the years he has been called out for these comments. And, through the years, he has never really apologized for them.

When the tweets resurfaced, the Academy Awards asked him to apologize. He refused, claiming he did not want to "[feed] the internet trolls."

Yesterday, on his SiriusXM show, he seemed to have a change of heart.

“I will say this, and I want to make this very clear. And I’m going to say it just in case you guys try to take this sh-t and chop it up, I will rebuttal with this f–ing piece right here. Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community. I apologize,” he said.

“I’m not debating right from wrong. I’ve already stated it’s wrong. But, the other side of it is this. If the fight from the LGBTQ community is equality, that’s the fight. The fight is the will and want for equality. I’m riding with you guys. I understand you. But in the fight for equality, that means that there has to be an acceptance for change.”

A decade to get here? Hart really is a slow learner.
