Fox's "RENT" performance helping raise funds for World AIDS Day

December 1st is World AIDS Day.

The event was started in 1988 as an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It was also created to recognize the many lives lost to the disease.

Fox TV is planning a live musical production of the hit musical RENT on January 27. RENT is about a group of young, struggling artists in New York City's East Village living under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

In honor of World AIDS Day, the TV production has promised to match all donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, up to $20,000. (You can donate here.)
