Taron Egerton is not gay

Super cute actor Taron Egerton got tongues wagging last month after posting a pic of a friend on Instagram. He included the caption "Cutie.My Boy." Many took this as a subtle nod to Egerton's sexuality.

When asked on social media for the other guy's name, Egerton replied, “Nah, he’s mine and mine only.”

The truth is Egerton was just being cheeky.

“One of the lads was at my London flat and I Instagrammed a picture of him and said ‘Look at this cutie’, and a million outlets reported I was coming out as gay," he explained to Radio Times.

“I’m not gay but two of my mates came out when I was 15 and it was a joy to support them because, as a group, we are all secure in who we are. I’m certainly not going to stop calling my mates cuties and gorgeous, because they are cuties and they are gorgeous.”

Of course, Egerton will be playing one of the most iconic gay men when he takes the lead in the Elton John biopic Rocketman in May 2019.
