Jimmy Durano took to social media to give fans an update about his current health struggles.
Durano had a craniotomy -- the surgical removal of part of the bone from the skull to expose the brain, allowing a surgeon to do work -- at Desert Regional Medical Center Hospital a few weeks ago.
He did not go into details about why he needed the surgery, but he posted a picture shortly after the operation, revealing the need for a helmet whenever he was out of bed.
Sadly, there were some complications and this week Durano was forced to return to the hospital.
"For those wondering how I am... let’s say that I hit a bump on the road," he revealed. "I am back in the hospital. Last Saturday I went back to ER due to some complications after the stitches were removed and my headaches were wors[e]. [O]n Sunday I had an unexpected surgery. I’ll be here under observation till May 1st."
He said his recovery will be slow and may take up to six months.
"Till then I won’t be doing any out of town gigs or appearances, neither working at my local home club ... here in Palm Springs,CA."
He also had a message for all his doctors and fans.
"I am thankful for all the amazing doctors who did the surgery and the great nurses taking care of me. They are true angels. Thanks to all of you sending messages asking how I am and sending good vibes and wishes for speed[y] recovery."
We certainly hope Durano gets well soon!
