Even though singer Sia has been winning international praise for her music over the past few years, she's been writing and recording since 1997, when she released her debut album OnlySee. The album sold a less than impressive 1,200 copies.
Fast forward 16 years, and her music was finally catching on. In 2013, she released the single "Elastic Heart" featuring The Weeknd and Diplo as part of The Hunger Games soundtrack, and a year later she released her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear, which debuted at No. 1 in the US Billboard 200, and boasted first-week sales of 52,000 copies.
She has had several hits since, including "Chandelier," a solo version of "Elastic Heart," and "Unstoppable."
She has also been open about her bisexuality for many years. In 2009, she explained, ""I've always dated boys and girls and anything in between. I don't care what gender you are, it's about people. ... I've always been... well, flexible is the word I would use." In 2014, she married filmmaker Erik Anders Lang.
Her most recent effort was also a first for her: a Christmas album. Everyday is Christmas came out a few weeks ago, and two videos have already been released.
So if you are not in the Christmas spirit, check out these two songs and you soon will be!
