Chrome extension turns homophobia into something nice

#LoveWins filter

If you use the Chrome web browser, you may want to check out a new extension that turns anti-LGBT hate speech into beautiful rainbow colored messages.

The #LoveWins extension was created to target homophobic terms and replace them with something more positive. Wherever the term "faggot" is supposed to appear, you'll see "unbelievable friend" instead. "Poof" becomes "great pal" and "tranny" becomes "marvel."

“The tool is designed to search webpages for LGBT+ slurs, and, when found, make them disappear by replacing them with positive adjectives celebrating what people in the community are: proud, courageous, fearless, friendly,” said Ivan Adriel, whose company Connector created the extension for Pride month.

“The tool also decorates the replacement words with the Pride colours," he added.

Imagine if Google rolled this out to all Chrome users. Online trolls would have a complete mental breakdown if their messages of hate turned into declarations of love.
