Trey Pearson releases first single since coming out as gay

In 2016, Trey Pearson, lead singer for Christian pop-rock band Everyday Sunday, came out as a gay man. The song "Silver Horizon" is his first release since making the announcement, and speaks to the overlap between some people's faith and their sexuality.

“The song is very much about my journey, especially over the last year and a half, but really kind of having to go through the darkness and the toughness -- just all the hardship to find the light on the other side and the new beginning and the hope,” the performer revealed. “I just wanted to find a way to portray that in the video.”

He added: “With his story we wanted it to be sweet and inspiring and a love story of sorts. And to also show that there are more and more open and affirming churches out there and that the world is changing."
