Bye, bye Playguy

When Mavety Media Group announced they were ceasing publication of gay porn mags Mandate, Torso, Honcho, Inches and Playguy we were surprised. Who are these people who still buy adult magazines to get off?

After the initial shock wore off we realized what a big deal this really is. These titles were major players in the porn world ... pre-internet. The oldest, Mandate, has actually been published for 34 years, starting in April 1975. They shaped the lives of many gay men, offering a mix of articles, letters and photos of hot naked men.

As gay blog boy culture pointed out: "The need for a printed magazine became lesser and lesser in the age of the Internet, where every fantasy is a click away."

Mavety's very straight Juggs will continue publication. Guess there still aren't enough titties on the Internet.
