Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio may have lost a few of her gay friends after declaring that she would rather see a child starve to death on the street than be adopted by a same-sex couple.
"It's better that the child die instead of that life for the little creatures," she told a reporter, after being asked which scenario (death on the streets or gay adoption) she supported. Nasty!
Someone close to her somehow managed to convince the singer of just how vile her comments were: this past weekend she apologized for her statement and offered to perform at a gay disco in Mexico City on Tuesday as a major mea culpa. She blamed her “poor education” on the issue, and claimed that a majority of her friends were gay. Right.

Many TV shows and films rely heavily on government grants and tax credits in order to go from script to screen. However, some new legislation in Florida may mean any shows with gay characters will not get this important suppor because they fail the “family-friendly” test.
The bill does not specifically target gay material, but the bill's sponsor, Republican Stephen Precourt, admitted that shows with gay characters were not “the kind of thing I’d say that we want to invest public dollars in.”
Florida Family Policy Council president John Stemberger added the legislation could include anything from “drug abuse to excessive drunkenness to homosexual families.”
Content that doesn't fall into the pro-family category does not have to be explicit either. Currently shows with smoking, sex, and profane language are already exempt from the State's tax credits. The bill would now target these things even if they were simply implied.
Just another example of politicians focused on the really important issues facing constituents today.

Canada's Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has decided that the newly revised Canadian citizenship guide -- a primer on Canada's history, laws and values -- should not include any information on the country's acceptance of gays and lesbians as equal citizens. He actually nixed sections that had been approved before the guide was ready for publication.
Openly gay Liberal Member of Parliament Scott Brison reacted quickly to the news, saying, "Canada's Charter of Rights has helped make Canada one of the most progressive societies in the world and a magnet for those seeking equality. The Charter is not a buffet. You can't take from it the rights you like and ignore the rest."
"Jason Kenney can't edit gays and lesbians out of Canadian history," New Democrat MP Bill Siksay added. "I think this is an obnoxious attempt to do that. Clearly he has to commit to a revision of this booklet, and the reprinting has to include these references."
The minister was cornered in Parliament and asked about his role in removing the gay and lesbian content. Kenney's reply: "I did not do such a thing. No, no, you are wrong." He then slipped away.
The Canadian Press found that a memo to Kenney from bureaucrats at Citizenship and Immigration last June show that sections referring to gay marriage and Charter of Rights protections for gays and lesbians were removed at the request of the minister's office. A second memo to Kenney in August indicates bureaucrats were rebuffed after trying again to press the issue of including LGBT content.
Kenney's office says the next edition will include "updated material." Will there be room to explain to new Canadians why homophobic conservatives are running the country?

Spanish priest Samuel Martin spends a lot of time on his knees, but he isn't praying. The 27-year-old Catholic, who is responsible for two small parishes in the province of Toledo, has extended his religious services to include sexual encounters with women and couples. He charges 120 euros an hour.
His escort ad states: "Heterosexual man for women and couples. Real photos. Well hung (15cm) to give you pleasure and happiness. ... I am open to everything except sadism. Hotels and private addresses. 24 hours. You won't regret it, I will give you pleasure like never before."
He has also been accused of using church donations of over $20,000 to fund his second job and his addiction to porn. He asked for forgiveness during a recent mass. He has since gone into hiding, but promised that he would pay back all of the money.
And here he thought he was doing a good thing, bringing people to God one orgasm at a time.

In 2004, the store Condomania launched TheyFit condoms, the world's first line of prophylactics actually tailored to one's cock. And now that the store has sold these specialty condoms to men from all over the United States, it has created an impressive list of what American guys have hanging between their legs. And no, not all men are created equal.
The last major survery of cock size took place in 1948 by Kinsey researchers. This current survery is based upon a larger sampling of guys, with users measuring the length and girth of their erect cocks - to the millimeter - before matching the results with one of 76 possible sizes of available condoms.
The findings? New Hampshire men are much better endowed than the good folk in Wyoming. And you may want to plan a trip to New Orleans if you're a size queen, as the men in this city have the biggest wangs. And no, not all things are bigger in Texas; Dallas/Ft. Worth have, on average, the smallest dicks in the US (barring, of course, the biggest dick in the US: George W. Bush).

Not happy with huge profits in the bricks-and-mortar retail world, Walmart recently took a dip into the potentially lucrative pool of digital media. It purchased online content provider Vudu Inc, a service that allows people to rent or buy media online and watch it on their television. Two days later Walmart dropped AVN's “After Dark” adult programming channel from the service.
According to a Vudu spokesperson, adult content was not in line with Walmart sensibilities. Customers who had purchased explicit content should be getting a refund.
An e-mail was sent to various producers who relied on the 'After Dark' service to sell their goods. "As you may have recently heard, VUDU was acquired by Walmart," the email reads. "In conjunction with this acquisition we will be discontinuing the 'After Dark' adult service over the coming days. Upon completion of the shutdown process, we will settle all accounts with you and ensure that you are paid the full amount you are owed under our existing agreement."
Vivid Entertainment's Steve Hirsch told XBIZ his company was not concerned by the changes. Vudu's distribution potential was limited at best.
Hustler president Michael Klein added that most IPTV (Internet Protocol television) providers were just as limited as Vudu in providing a quality service. "We're always exploring IPTV deals but we're not moving our content because we're not really impressed with any particular IPTV carrier," Klein said.
Walmart and Apple should consider joining forces, they'd get along so well.

Indian university profs should be careful to keep their gay sexual encounters behind locked doors. Dr Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, an Aligarh Muslim University professor, was having consensual sex with a local rickshaw driver in his own home when reporters entered with video cams in hand and then turned over the footage to University officials. So much for a right to privacy.
Siras decided not to challenge the resulting suspension, with officials eager to bury the "embarrassing episode'' fearing an increase in debate over gay rights. As consensual sex with a same-sex partner isn't a crime, the professor didn't do anything illegal.
"Siras was captured on camera having sex with a rickshaw-puller. It's a scandal that no institution of repute can overlook. Therefore he was placed under suspension on February 9 by the order of the VC, Prof P K Abdul Azis," said an AMU spokesman. "On February 8, he was home in the company of a young rickshaw-puller from Jamalpur area of the town. Since the door was open, two reporters from a local TV channel barged into the house and filmed him and his companion. The video clippings were then sent to AMU authorities who were constrained to proceed against Siras.''
"Let them say what they want to. I am not going to offer any clarification," Siras offered in response. "You don't have to abuse back if someone abuses you. I am already on the verge of retirement and, therefore, would rather be gone than to stretch the issue."
We give the University a big fat 'F' for being so narrow-minded.

A chocolate cock may result in a mistrial of a very serious case.
In 1989, Marcus Wellons was charged and convicted of the abduction, rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl. For two weeks the 12 jurors and two alternates were sequestered at a local hotel, and they eventually sentenced Wellons to death.
Now the Supreme Court is involved. However, their review of the case has nothing to do with the actual decision or the case itself. They are looking into whether the gift of a chocolate penis (given to the judge) and a gift of chocolate breasts (given to the bailiff) should result in a new trial.
"From beginning to end, judicial proceedings conducted for the purpose of deciding whether a defendant shall be put to death must be conducted with dignity and respect," wrote the Supreme Court when accepting to review the case. "The disturbing facts of this case raise serious questions concerning the conduct of the trial."
An investigation into the case in 1997 found that juror Mary Jo Hooper had asked a friend to get some candy from a local store for her to share with her jurors. The friend returned with a white chocolate penis as a joke. Hooper claimed she was planning to throw it out, but the judge asked for her to hold onto it until after the trial and then let her have it.
Judge Staley called the supreme Court's decision "elitist and superior."
"Juries have the 'common sense of the ordinary man,'" she argued. "Though they may be a 'little crude' on occasion, 'does that mean they weren’t honest in their work?"
The Eleventh Circuit panel will now investigate and rule on the issue on behalf of the Supreme Court.

Fort Lauderdale mayor, Jack Seiler, was furious that four gay porn stars showed up with entertainer Connie Francis at last week's press conference to promote a family-friendly beach party. Francis starred in "Where the Boys Are", the classic 1960 beach flick about college students on Spring Break. The event: "Connie Francis' Great American Beach Party" will be held on Memorial Day weekend.
"We didn't have anything to do with her entourage," Seiler insisted on Monday.
John McLaughlin, a spokesman for Francis, organized the event and admitted he relied on "Hot Spots" a publication that serves South Florida's gay community. FabScout, a Fort Lauderdale-based gay male talent agency, was subsequently contacted and four models - Tony Douglas, Dallas Reeves, Matthew Rush and Rusty Stevens - were sent out.
"We contacted [FabScout] and asked for anyone," McLaughlin said. "I don't care about their backgrounds and I didn't specifically ask for anyone of any notoriety."
The mayor later conceded that he was told at the event about the backgrounds of the models, and avoided any photographs with the bunch. He expected men, but "we thought they were going to be in their 60s."
Francis, ever the classy dame, didn't have a problem. She was told by her hairdresser the men were porn stars but she kept the information to herself "because for me it wasn't that important," she said. And there was no thought of sending them home: "I can't hurt their feelings … Everybody's gotta earn a living."
