Boyride has a knack for finding very natural 19-23 year-old skater and surfer guys with cool tats, eccentricities and a bit of a thing for toys. To raise the heat, add in cock and tongue piercings, self-suck, and even self-facials. The guys are masculine and youthful at the same time, getting very involved and delivering some great performances.


Boyride's tour is in two parts: first the Home page starts with a section that's called: "The 411 on Boyride.com." You'll click to an article that tells you about the history of the site, and about the quality of the vids and pics. Lower down on the Home page, you'll find buttons for the first two of seven explicit preview clips. Still on the Home page, click "View Guys" and you'll be able to access the complete episode index, which is conveniently cross-referenced with the model index. Together, these options provide a comprehensive look at the guys, and the scenes they appear in.


Navigating Boyride is easy -- though it could be improved. On each page a navigation bar links to the main sections of the site: "Flix," "XXX Galleries," "Bios," and "Erotica." On the individual video pages there are good cross-references to other videos that the models have appeared in.

Some minor beefs (that still apply a year after our intial review):
- the "Bios" section only gives bios of some of the models; it would be vastly improved if it provided an individual page for every model on the site, with links to all of his galleries and videos.
- photo galleries of models ought to cross-link to all of that model's videos (and vice-versa.)
- the "Flix" page does not list all the videos (ie "Donovan's Dudes) - the site is big enough to merit a search function.


Where do they find these guys? These alternative dudes are off-the-hook sexy. Boyride excels at making these amateur guys comfortable. On the surface they're are all about the 'bro culture, knit caps, scruffs of facial hair and rad tats. Get the clothes off and they're lean and sexy -- big feet, big cocks and surprisingly comfortable with ass play and butt toys.

Most of the sessions are indoors, with a few outside locations. Solos outnumber duo sessions by about two to one and the action includes solo wanking, duo jerk-offs, sucking, fucking rimming, toys, self-suck and facials.

All of Boyride's images and movies are original. They add up to more than 170 videos averaging 15 minutes in length.

Video streams(pd) or downloads at 1,000 kbps in Windows Media or Quicktime format and plays in a medium sized 320x240 window (dial-up users can download at 256k.) The "original" Boyride videos are always divided into clips, which makes for quicker downloads, but you don't have the option of downloading or streaming entire scenes. For whatever reason, the "Donovan's Dudes" videos are full-scene downloads only, not divided into clips. The Windows Media video is DRM licensed: you have access to video only as long as you are a current subscriber.

The videos play with excellent clarity in the default window size and still look good in full screen mode. They are fully lit without being too bright, and the sound recording captures the live moans and groans. The shooting style is to move around the guys with a single hand-held camera -- whether they are in solo or group sessions -- so we do see a good variety of angles and close-ups, and most of the cumshots are caught. The single cam method works well with Boyride; though you may not get all the angles of a multi-camera shoot, the amateur feel actually adds to the heat.

The quality of the images on Boyride, both photos and screen captures, is very good throughout; the thumbnails open to crisp, medium-sized images. Some of the image sets are available as Quick Time slideshows.
