Although he knows it's wrong, openly gay Sir Ian
McKellen can't stop tearing anti-gay passages out of hotel bibles. "It's the one
thing I find difficult to defend but do go on doing," the 68-year-old admitted. The outspoken
actor has campaigned for gay rights since coming out publicly in 1988.
The offending passage is Leviticus 20:13, in which man is warned against sleeping with another man as if he were a woman. However, Leviticus also warns that eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), and offers suggestions on how to correctly sacrifice a bull (Lev.1:9). We do not recommend that seafood lovers and PETA members follow McKellen's lead.
