Ricky Rebel likes boys, and sometimes girls, in latest single

Ricky Rebel

When Ricky Rebel was part of the '90s boy band No Authority, his publicist told him it was okay if he was a homosexual, just not in public. That confused the young singer, as he didn't label himself as gay at the time.

“I wasn’t technically gay at the time,” Rebel explained. "I was in a relationship with a woman, and I was very confused. We were doing bigger tours, and I had extreme anxiety stepping off the bus to all the fans.”

It was during a game of truth-or-dare on the tour bus when he first hooked up with another guy, and that's when things started to change.

“It really bummed me the fuck out,” Rebel revealed. “Like, holy shit. All of this stuff they were saying about me is fucking true. I thought maybe I became that way because [my management] had manipulated me. But I did like hooking up with this guy, so it must’ve been cool.”

His band was no Backstreet Boys, and Rebel eventually headed out on his own for a solo career. He's had some success too, opening for acts like Britney Spears.

He's getting ready to release a bunch of new music, and he also wanted to set the record straight about his sexuality.

“A lot of people refuse to believe that bisexuality is a real thing,” he said. “They think we are ashamed of being gay so we make up this lie that we like girls too. It’s not true. Some of the best relationships I have had have been with women and I want everyone to know it.”
