Joseph Kerekes admits to playing role in Bryan Kocis' murder

Just in time for the release of King Cobra, one of the men involved in the shocking murder that inspired the movie is speaking out. Joseph Kerekes, who was sentenced to life in prison for his role in killing Bryan Kocis, finally acknowledged he had a bigger role in the crime than he admitted to in the past.

On yesterday's TV series Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen Kerekes spoke about the murder and, in his mind, why it was justified.

“Though my hand did not swipe Kocis’ neck physically, I did it in every other sense,” Kerekes revealed. “I want [viewers] to realize the only mistake we made in our entire lives was deciding to personally end Kocis’ life.”

He continued: “You know, I say personally because I don’t think it was a mistake to end his life. It was disgusting, he was somebody that needed to be removed to further our business just like we had done a couple other times in the past, but it was done with other people, so I want people to realize that we turned a seedy disgusting business into something that was upstanding and professional and there’s a way to do this and be very, very successful.”

In another interview from earlier this year, Kerekes said, “We did not do any of this because we were in debt. We did this because we wanted more, and we thought we could get away with it.”

Some people really do belong behind bars. Kerekes is one of them.
