Too good to be true: sex school a hoax

Austrian sex school a hoax.Like so many blogs (and mainstream media), we recently printed a story about the new Austrian International School of Sex (AISOS). We found out today it was all a hoax (and a brilliant one at that!).

“I wasn’t surprised it got so much attention. Sex still sells,” Ylva-Maria Thompson admitted earlier this week.

The former host of erotic television shows in Sweden, and a controversial artist known for making castings of women's naughty bits, claimed the idea for the school was initiated by an Austrian advocacy group called The Bird Base in order to raise awareness about the country’s low birth rate.

“I was asked by their press person to play the part. If anyone was the right person, it was me. I felt made for the role,” she said. This led to press conferences and interviews in Austria; and then the international media got wind of it and the whole thing went viral.

Her only surprise: how well the idea was received.

“I think many in the media figured ‘if a story sounds too good to be true, don’t check it too carefully’. They wanted the story regardless,” she said.

Maybe its time we announced our own much more real BananaGuide's School for Gifted Fratboys, where we teach young men how to handle being hung.
