Nascent pop star embraces gay porn past

Carsten Andersson is starting to make a bit of a name for himself as a young pop star in Europe. His debut dance single ‘Fun’ has been a top ten hit in Scandinavia, and was produced by the London-based team behind the Sugababes, Zebra 1.

And the fact that he dabbled in gay porn doesn't seem to be much of an issue. The 25-year-old, who worked under both the porn name Ashton Sorenson and even his current stage name, told Frontiers that “without my porn past, I’d be just another boy with a song out. Porn has made people take notice.”

'Fun' is for the most part a conventional electronica tune, with a few Anderson vocal overlays. What inspired him to do it?

"I did it for fun; no deeper reason. Basically, I had done movies, photos… we thought what comes next? Ok, let’s make a song."

More porn is not out of the question.

"I’m open to doing more," he said. "Maybe the big shocking movie is still yet to come. ... Porn is the only job I feel comfortable with. I know my way around the bed, or on the couch, or in the barn."
