In many ways, long-running Latin porn site Maximo Latino lives up to its name. The site hosts one of the greatest selections of south-of-the-border porn on the web, featuring muy caliente dudes from Mexico, Central and South America. While the site's video quality and options aren't consistent and it can be difficult to navigate, if you don't mind "poking around" a bit you'll find some excellent hombres on Maximo Latino.

Tour

Both Maximo Latino's large selection and its navigational issues are apparent in its cursory tour. The partial tour provides brief streaming preview clips of only the eight most recent scenes, plus a massive six-page model index (one small pic each). On the bright side, several one-minute sample downloads allow potential subscribers to test Maximo Latino's video options in advance - including a crisp, large HD format.

Navigation

Lots of content, not enough categorization. That, in a nutshell, is why it's tough to navigate Maximo Latino. Updates are listed on the members' homepage only by the models' names, and separated from one another with basic month and year headings: no action categories, thumbnails, descriptions or search menus.

Clicking on the monthly headings does take surfers to a single thumbnail pic and weirdly breathless summary of each scene, but that's it...Furthermore, counter-intuitive navigational links mean that finding this info involves lots of clicking on your browser's "back" button. Maximo Latino has some great content; they'd do well to make it easier for members to find and enjoy these hot videos.

The Men and the Action

Obviously, the name Maximo Latino indicates the one thing that all of these guys are sure to share: their Hispanic heritage. Most of the guys hail from South America, but the site is also peppered with some spicy Mexican and Central American boys.

The other trait that these guys share is their boyishness...most have a lean-bodied, smooth-skinned, twinkish appeal. A few muscle studs add flavor, but if you're looking for papis you will want to search elsewhere.

Video Details

As mentioned, Maximo Latino boasts mucho video: about 425 scenes with an average length of 25 minutes. New DRM-free material is added to the site on a weekly basis.

Videos filmed in high-def make up the most recent 20% of the updates. These will stream in Quicktime format or can be downloaded in Windows Media or Quicktime (mov) format. These videos have a fast speed of over 2,500k, playing in a very large 1280x720 window and are high quality. The streaming versions of these videos are divided into several clips, with no full-length option.

The 80% of the vids that weren't shot in high-definition are available to stream or download in Quicktime format only. They have speeds ranging from 400-500 kbps and play in a small 320x240 window. These are all divided into clips which are downloaded as a zip file. Obviously the technical quality of the more recent videos is superior by leaps and bounds compared to the older ones.

Mac note: Quicktime (.mov) files make downloading and replaying Maximo Latino's content on Mac platforms seamless.

Mobile note: Several of Maximo Latino's newer videos are available as downloadable .mp4 files which can be synced via iTunes for play on the iPod and iPhone.

Maximo Latino's competently crafted videos have consistently high production values. Clear, well-lit images are smoothly edited into nicely-paced, action-oriented scenes with a minimum of chit-chat or narrative set-up. Although simple, the videos always capture the action...and the cumshots. But as mentioned the size and quality of the older videos does not compare well to the newer ones.

Image and Other Content

Every video on Maximo Latino is accompanied by a large gallery of high-quality still images...in fact, some of the site's earliest updates (from 2002) are photo-only posts. The gallery images aren't available as zip files, but navigational buttons atop the pop-up windows do make viewing relatively easy. However, a slideshow function would make the galleries more enjoyable to view.

Subscribers also receive access to over thirty video plug-ins and can sign up to use the "Maximo Chat" live-chat function. As well, full access to sister site Cruiser Boys is included.

Summing Up

If you love hot young Latin guys in solo, duo and group action - and you can overlook some issues with navigation and searchability, then the affordably priced, well stocked Maximo Latino is well worth checking out.
