Take Star Wars, add a pinch of Pink Flamingos, mix in a little Mad Max with just a hint of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and what do you get? The new sci-fi grindhouse film, Fags in the Fast Lane.

The “truly trashy, pansexual rock-and-roll adventure” filled with “magic golden cocks, amyl nitrate sniffing giantesses, badass police, disco mutants, androgynous Elvis assassins, kickboxing drag queens and loud muscular men with big exhausts” gets its official release on Tuesday, June 27, in Australia. After that, it should be popping up at film fests around the world.

The movie follows Beau, who is on a quest to bring down an evil gang. To do so, he needs to find a magical gold-sparkling dildo, and on his way he meets a giantess and her “purveyors of grotesque burlesque,” a flamboyant eunuch assassin and his cult of criminal pornographers, the Golden GILFs (a set of aging female sex kittens), a band of space-age disco freaks and “Aztec shemale worshippers.” It literally has something for everyone!

“This movie is as brazen as its title suggests, and it’s going to be great to see every madcap idea we put in the script three years ago, ending up on the big screen at the Astor,” director Josh Collins said.

“I got involved with the folks from Fags In The Fast Lane firstly because my bud Raul Sanchez was doing the music but mostly because I liked the idea of the movie appearing in my CV,” explained musician Tex Perkins, who narrated the film. “My status as a gay icon has been waning over the last few years and needed a reboot.”

It looks like it could be a lot of fun ... or 90 minutes of badly produced hell.
