Queerty launching a queer-centric streaming service

We're not sure how successful minor players in the streaming world can be, what with major players like Netflix and Hulu already in the game, but Queerty is hoping to convince some people to give its new service a try.

Queerty has teamed up with Revry to create a digital streaming service dedicated to providing content to the LGBT community. It will be called REVRY’s QueertyTV Channel. (Hmmm, not very creative guys!)

“We are excited to announce this partnership with one of the giants in the online LGBTQ world,” said Damian Pelliccione, co-founder and CEO of Los Angeles-based REVRY. “By aligning our mission of telling stories that change the world with Queerty’s goal of providing reliable and informative news and content to the LGBTQ and allied communities, we are optimistic that this will serve to further educate and inform our viewers.”

What can consumers expect? At launch, the site will carry such programming as the web series Going Places, which tells the personal stories of five openly gay filmmakers, and On the Red Carpet, which focuses on interviews on the eponymous red carpets of LGBT celebrations and premieres. There will also be a travelogue show called Out in Gay Cities.

“We believe Queerty’s brand of entertainment and news is a perfect fit for REVRY,” said Scott Gatz, CEO of Queerty’s Parent Company Q Digital, “We’re excited to announce the launch of our dedicated channel on this multi-platform service.”

The site does offer a 30-day free trial is you're interested. Afterwards, your credit card will be dinged $4.99 a month. To check it out and see if you think it's worth it, head over to www.revry.tv
