Comic book released to help Pulse nightclub shooting victims

Love is Love

This week, a special 144-page graphic novel called Love is Love was released. It contains over 100 stories of about a page each, and was designed to honor the victims and families of the Pulse nightclub attack.

Out comic writer Mark Andreyko came up with the concept, shortly after a gunman killed 49 people at the gay club in Orlando, Florida, in June.

“I grew up in the ’80s—I’m a child of the 'We Are the World' and 'Do They Know It’s Christmas,'" Andreyko explained during an interview with Seth Meyers. “So my reaction was, ’I know all these comic book people and these professionals and actors, let’s do something.'"

Appearing in the comic are fan faves like Superman, Wonder Woman, Archie and even the kids from Harry Potter. All material has been donated by the writers, artists, and editors, and all proceeds will be going to victims, survivors, and their families.

The book was published by IDW, in participation with DC Comics.

“When Marc brought this project to me, there was no hesitation about us getting involved,” says Chris Ryall of IDW. “We are proud of the hard work and talent that has gone into this project and to be involved in any way to support the survivors and their families in the face of tragedy.”

You can buy the comic for $9.99 at your local comic book shop or online through IDW here.
